Unification of the sunflower market: Magic Flame wants to buy Klas Oil

The peeled sunflower producer awaits CPC approval for transaction with one of the country’s largest processors

The peeled sunflower producer Magic Flame plans to acquire one of the largest processors of agricultural products in the country, Klas Oil, and the associated company Kabakum Group – Import Export. This became clear from an application submitted to the Commission for Protection of Competition (CPC), which has to authorise the transaction. According to them, the concentration could have an impact on the market for sunflower seeds and eco-briquettes. The total turnover of the three companies for 2018 is nearly BGN 170 million.
